Who We Are
WHO WE ARE
New York’s Toastmasters District 119 encompasses a vibrant area that includes Manhattan, South of 34th Street, and all of Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island.
Our journey began on July 1, 2020, amidst the challenging backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic. Just a few months prior, some clubs chose to meet solely online while many clubs simply stopped meeting altogether.
By our third year, many of our clubs had evolved and adopted a hybrid format with a few returning to in-person. A new era of growth began for the District and this has continued since with a variety of new community, corporate and specialty clubs.
Together, we have embarked on a journey of continuous improvement, supporting one another’s ambitions and celebrating our collective accomplishments. In this spirit, we are committed to supporting our existing clubs, building new clubs and unlocking the full potential within each individual member, empowering them to become confident communicators and effective leaders in their personal and professional lives as well as their respective communities.
We are organized into 5 Divisions, each served by an elected Division Director. They each oversee 5 Areas, each of those in turn represented by an appointed Area Director. Our team is rounded out by appointed Public Relations, Finance and Administration managers.
