TOASTMASTERS DISTRICT 119

Manhattan South of 34th St., Brooklyn, Queens & Long Island

TLI/Officer Training FAQ

TLI stands for Toastmasters Leadership Institute. It provides leadership training for members across the district, including both Summer and Winter training sessions.

  • Help your club earn Distinguished Club Program (DCP) credit.
  • Gain skills to become a more successful and effective club officer and leader.
  • Practice and improve your Toastmasters skills in a fun and engaging setting.
  • Trained officers contribute to a club’s overall success—100% officer training often correlates with achieving Distinguished status.
  • Network with fellow Toastmasters across the district and build new connections.

TLI training is open to all Toastmasters members. However, every club officer is highly encouraged to attend to fulfill their leadership role and help the club earn DCP credit.

  • To earn full DCP credit for Goal 9, at least four (4) club officers must be trained in both the Summer and Winter sessions.
  • Half (½) of the credit is earned in Summer, and the other half in Winter.
  • District 119 expects each club to have at least four (4) officers trained in both training periods.

Yes. You may attend TLI training in another district. To receive DCP credit in District 119, please ensure that proof of attendance is emailed to the TLI Registration Chair.

Toastmasters International requires manual input for officer training data, as there is no automated system in place.
Due to this, updates are made in batches during the training period, which may result in a delay in the data being reflected on the website.
Rest assured, if you attended training, your club will receive credit.

To receive credit:

  • Attend at least 75% of your session.
  • Sign the attendance sheet, which will be shared in the chat at the end of the session.

✅ Both steps are required for credit.

You must attend separate training sessions for each respective role to receive DCP credit for each position.
